  • Understood Community - 15 nonprofit organizations have joined forces to support parents of the one in five children with learning and attention issues throughout their journey. The site provides access to live chats and webinars with experts (including teachers, reading specialists, doctors, child psychologists, neurologists, etc.) on topics from homework tips, to ideas for supporting teachers on how to improve student behaviour and self-esteem. 
  • Article: Is the Pen Mightier Than the Laptop? - Recent studies suggest that taking notes by hand may help students retain and recall concepts more effectively. Teachers who pause when delivering information can help students assess and record important points while keeping up with the lecture.
  • Vocabulary SpellingCity.com - Math Vocabulary - Math vocabulary words help students understand the foundational principles taught in each math concept. VocabularySpellingCity has compiled comprehensive math vocabulary lists to make those tricky math words, a snap!
  • Ministry of Education - EduGAINS: http://www.edugains.ca/newsite/HOME/index.html - ministry-developed resources that support the policies and programs related to improved learning and teaching in Ontario's publicly funded schools.
  • On the Special Education site (http://www.edugains.ca/newsite/SpecialEducation/index.html) classroom educators, school and system leaders, and professional learning facilitators will find information about ministry developed resources and policy direction and school board developed resources to support professional learning. Some items to highlight on the site include IEP samples, and resources to support the implementation of PPM 8: Identification of and Program Planning for Students with Learning Disabilities.
